A Case Study

In this example, Our Client is a major supplier to several well known high-street multiple-retail outlets, which include Tesco and John Lewis. Our Client supplies goods, services and logistics (both to Retail Shops and Direct Business to the End Customer's door).

Project Overview
To integrate the ordering process between Our Clients' systems and Their Clients' I.T. Systems (ERP) for Direct Business orders (communicated over the Internet).
The system would be expected to process up to 400 orders per hour (at peak periods) and the system and software must be robust and able to alert the Our Clients' I.T. Team to any malfunction where possible.

Summary of Work
As knowledge of Their Clients systems was limited and time constraints were high, a Proof of Concept phase was required, to demonstrate orders could be received, processed and confirmed under a testing environment.
The application was then built upon and tested to fulfil the full End-to-End requirements.
Finally a third round of programming was implemented to heighten the applications detection of unknown conditions (or errors) and alert Our Client's I.T. where possible.

Skills
The project required an understanding of programming (.Net) and a specialist understanding of a variety of methodologies, such as Internet Protocol, Soap, XML, HTTP, Threading, XSD, Translation matrices and lookups. All the work was provided in-house.

Conclusion
This is one of many projects we have fulfilled for The Client and although several hurdles were presented the project was fulfilled and Our Client and Their Client were both satisfied.
